Top Officials Laud Outstanding Performance; Girls Dominate Merit List
Srinagar: In a historic achievement, students from government schools have set a new benchmark in the Class 12 examinations, prompting praise from top education authorities for their stellar performance and the timely declaration of results.
Minister for Education, Health and Medical Education, and Social Welfare, Ms. Sakina Itoo, expressed deep satisfaction over the high pass percentage and applauded the efforts of the board officials, teachers, and support staff for ensuring the efficient conduct and swift publication of results. She particularly highlighted the commendable performance of girl students, describing it as a promising sign of rising educational standards in the region.
Joining in the commendation, Additional Chief Secretary for School and Higher Education, Mr. Shantmanu (IAS), extended congratulations to the successful students, as well as to the teaching community and board officials. He noted that the seamless coordination between educators and administrative staff played a vital role in the timely and transparent release of exam results, strengthening public trust in the education system.
Director of School Education Kashmir, Mr. G.N. Itoo, also expressed pride in the students’ accomplishments, offering special congratulations to those who secured top ranks and distinctions. He spotlighted the success of students from several government schools particularly GHSS Kothi Bagh Srinagar for excellence in Home Science, GHSS Nowhatta Srinagar for outstanding performance in Arts, GHSS Bugam Budgam for excellence in Science and GHSS Amirakadal Srinagar for securing top marks in Commerce.
Mr. Itoo also acknowledged the dedication of teachers and school heads whose tireless efforts paved the way for such impressive outcomes. He further praised the parents for their continued faith in government institutions and for supporting their children through the exam process.
This year’s Class 12 examination saw 103,308 students appear, out of which more than 77,000 successfully cleared the exams, pushing the overall pass percentage to 74.83%. Notably, girls outshone boys, claiming all but one of the top ten positions.
The announcement of results has sparked widespread celebration across the valley. With this landmark performance, government schools in Jammu and Kashmir have not only made headlines but also reaffirmed their growing role in shaping the region’s academic excellence.
