Kulgam, Apr 30:Sherish Jahangir, a dedicated student from Nanibugh village in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, has made her hometown proud by securing the second position in the Class 12 Science stream across Jammu and Kashmir. She scored an outstanding 494 marks out of 500, sharing the distinction with another top performer from Sopore, Baramulla.
Speaking to JKNS, Sherish expressed her overwhelming joy at the achievement. “I’m feeling very excited, and so are my parents. I believed I would score high marks as I had performed well in the exams, but I never expected to become the second topper in J&K,” she said.
Reflecting on the competitive environment, she noted, “Competition is very high in the present age, and I feel extremely happy to be among the toppers.”
Sherish also discussed her approach to studies in the digital age, saying she completely avoided social media. “I didn’t use social media platforms at all. I only used YouTube and Google for study purposes. If we use the internet positively, we can gain a wealth of information, but if used otherwise, it can ruin our lives,” she added.
Talking about her motivation and study strategy, she advised students to be clear about their goals. “We must set a clear goal first. Once the goal is set, consistency and focus will naturally follow. If we work hard, the goal will definitely be achieved.”
For those who couldn’t pass this year’s exams, Sherish had a message of hope. “They must work hard to clear the next session. If you work hard, you will definitely get your reward.”
Her remarkable performance has not only made her parents and teachers proud but has also brought honour to the entire Kulgam district, inspiring students across the region with her dedication and disciplined approach to academics. (JKNS)
