Srinagar: Authorities are set to announce a decision regarding reopening of schools in Kashmir valley by this evening. The schools have been shut for the past several days in wake of flare up of relations between India and Pakistan.
Director of School Education GN Itoo, as per a media report, stated that the current situation is being reviewed and assessed.
“The Divisional Commissioner and other senior officials are closely monitoring the developments,” Itoo said, adding, “a final decision regarding the reopening of schools tomorrow will be announced by the government after 5 PM.”
It is expected that the authorities may reopen schools in parts of Valley, and extend the closure in areas lying in proximity to border areas.
