Sopore, October 04, 2025:As part of its intensified drive against narcotics, Sopore Police apprehended three drug peddlers during naka checking at Sangri Top.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
- Maqsood Ahmad Lone S/O Ab. Ahad Lone R/O Rampora
- Riyaz Ahmad Dangroo S/O Sonaullah Dangroo R/O Yamran Bomai
- Syed Ahmad Khan S/O Gulzar Ahmad Khan R/O Diver Lolab A/P Sangri Top Watlab
They were intercepted while travelling on a motorcycle (Reg. No. PB07BB 7763). On their search, contraband charas-like substance was recovered.
Accordingly, Case FIR No. 213/2025 under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and investigation is underway to trace their backward and forward linkages.
Sopore Police reiterates its zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking. With these arrests, the ongoing crackdown continues, and more habitual offenders are under strict surveillance. Sopore Police remains determined to uproot the menace of drugs and safeguard the youth from this societal threat.
