Srinagar, Jun 29: Heatwave conditions are expected to persist across Kashmir over the next 48 hours, with the maximum temperature in Srinagar likely to range between 35°C and 37°C on Sunday, according to an independent weather forecast Kashmir Weather.

Most weather models indicate that Srinagar is likely to record a maximum temperature between 35°C and 37°C, though a few models suggest it could remain around 34°C.

The forecast said daytime temperatures across the Valley are expected to remain 4°C to 8°C above normal, resulting in heatwave conditions over many areas. Similar weather conditions are likely to continue on Monday.

Meanwhile, no significant rise in temperatures is expected across most parts of the Jammu region, where monsoon-like conditions continue to prevail. Short spells of rain are possible in some areas over the next 48 hours.

The forecast further said temperatures are likely to moderate from Wednesday, with further relief expected from Thursday onwards as a Western Disturbance is set to influence the region.
