Srinagar, June 29 : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday termed the action against Jammu and Kashmir’s mutton dealers in Punjab as “unjustified”, saying he has once again taken up the matter with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event at SKICC, CM Omar, per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said he has been pursuing the issue with his Punjab counterpart for the past several months.

“I have been in touch with the Punjab Chief Minister for months and have written to him again. Our mutton dealers are only using Punjab as a transit route. They are not purchasing livestock there. They should not be punished merely for passing through the state. The action against them is unjustified,” he said.

He added if f the issue is not resolved by the Punjab Government, the matter will be raised before the North Zone State Council and he would seek Centre’s intervention—(KNO)
