Srinagar, Jun 30: The Jammu and Kashmir government is considering announcing summer vacations for schools across the Kashmir Valley from the second week of July, officials said on Tuesday.
An official told Alfaaz – The Words, that no final decision has been taken on the vacation schedule and the matter remains under consideration. “The dates will be announced only after the necessary consultations and issuance of a formal government order,” said the official.
The proposal comes amid a spell of high temperatures across the Valley, which has evoked speculation over an early summer break for schools. However, officials cautioned that no dates have been finalised.
They also advised students, parents and school managements not to rely on messages circulating on WhatsApp and other social media platforms regarding the vacation schedule, describing such claims as false. Officials said the government will communicate its decision only through official channels.
Earlier, the government had announced summer vacations for schools in the Summer Zone of Jammu Division.
