Anantnag, July 22 (GNS): A police personnel who was critically injured in a firing incident at Lal Chowk in Anantnag district on Wednesday has succumbed to his injuries in hospital, officials said.
The cop identified as Ashiq Hussain (IRP 3rd Bn) of Budgam who was performing Yatra duty was critically injured in the attack and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he later succumbed.
Soon after the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the attackers.
