September 27: Continuing its efforts to curb the menace of drug trafficking and substance abuse, Police in Anantnag have arrested a drug peddler during naka checking at Kehribal, near Zig-Zag Mod.
A Police party from Police Station Mattan, while conducting naka checking, intercepted and apprehended one suspect identified as Adil Khursheed Bhat son of Khursheed Ahmad Bhat resident of Chickenpora, Krungsu. During search, 96.4 grams of Charas wrapped in polythene, were recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, FIR No. 107/2026 under relevant provisions of law has been registered at Police Station Mattan and investigation has been taken up.
J&K Police reiterates its commitment to taking stringent action against persons involved in drug trafficking and to safeguarding the youth from the menace of drugs.
