Director Urban Local Bodies Jammu Kapil Sharma to Conduct Inquiry; Report to Be Submitted Within One Month
Srinagar, October 19: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed Kapil Sharma, JKAS, Director, Urban Local Bodies, Jammu, as the Inquiry Officer to investigate the charges levelled against Ashwani Khajuria, Executive Engineer, S&D Division West, Jammu.
According to Government Order No. 215-JK(HUD) of 2026, dated October 16, issued by the Housing and Urban Development Department, Civil Secretariat Srinagar, the appointment has been made under Rule 33 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956.
The order states that Kapil Sharma will conduct a formal inquiry into the charges against the Executive Engineer. Aaliya Nazir, Technical Officer to the Chief Engineer, UEED, has been appointed as the Presenting Officer in the matter.
The Inquiry Officer has been directed to submit the inquiry report within one month from the date of issuance of the government order.
The order has been issued by Mandeep Kaur, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Housing and Urban Development Department.
The inquiry is expected to examine the charges formally, with further action, if any, to be determined in accordance with the applicable rules and the findings of the inquiry.(KNC)
