Shopain, Dec 02 : In its sustained efforts to curb illegal mining activities, Shopian Police have seized two JCBs and one dumper involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals from the Rambiara area.
During routine patrolling, a police party from Police Station Shopian intercepted two JCBs and one dumper found extracting minerals illegally without valid royalty documents. Accordingly, FIR No. 259/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Shopian and investigation has been initiated.
Shopian Police reiterate their commitment to safeguarding the district’s natural resources and ensuring strict action against those involved in illegal mining. The public is urged to extend cooperation by reporting such activities. The identity of informants will be kept confidential, and stringent legal action shall be taken against violators.
