Srinagar, Nov 4 (GNS): Senior National Conference leader and MLA Eidgah, Haji Mubarak Gul on Wednesday deferred his press conference citing the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir and consultation with his colleagues and workers.
Addressing the media, Gul as per GNS said he was deferring the presser out of respect for the emotions and sentiments of his workers who have been with him since 1975.
“Keeping in view the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the atmosphere, consultation with my colleagues, and the emotions of my workers… they have been with me from 1975 till today, for almost 50 years. Respecting their sentiments, I announce that today’s press conference is deferred and I will not say anything today,” Gul said.
He said he did not want to speak on the issue at this moment representing the feelings of his associates and friends.
“Inshallah, it will happen in its own time. What I have said today is all I will say. That is the only message. I thank all friends. I have no clarification to make,” he said, adding that he will continue as guided by his colleagues.
“I am a fighter and will keep fighting. Thank you very much,” Gul said.
Supporters present on the occasion raised slogans in his favour, hailing him as “Imandaar Haji Mubarak Gul Sahib Zindabad” and chanting “Awaz Do, Hum Ek Hain.”(GNS)
