Srinagar, May 24 (GNS): At least two persons died and two others sustained injuries in two separate road mishaps in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.
Local sources told GNS that an accident involving a sumo bearing registration number JK09A-1972 and a bike bearing number JK15A-0164 took place this evening at Trekpora Rafiabad, leaving at least three persons injured.
Two of the injured persons succumbed and were identified as Ajaz Ahmad khan son of Manzoor Ahmad Khan, resident of Khanmoh Rafiabad and Danish Nabi Sheikh son of Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, resident of Pathoosa Rafiabad.
The injured person identified as Adil Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat, resident of Pathoosa Rafiabad was under treatment at District Hospital Baramulla.
A police official has also confirmed the death of two persons in the accident to GNS.
Earlier in the day, a policeman identified as Zubair Ahmad, was hit by a ‘Scorpio’ bearing registration number (MH06BM 9800) in Kunzer Chowk. The cop, as per an official, was on duty when the incident occurred.
He was removed to a nearby PHC, where the doctors referred him to JVC Srinagar for specialized treatment, they said.
A police official told GNS that a case under relevant sections of law pertaining to the incident was registered and investigations into motion. (GNS)
