Srinagar, Sep 22: National Conference MLA Salman Ali Sagar on Tuesday accused the BJP of creating chaos in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly to avoid answering questions over the transfer of local officers from Jammu and Kashmir to other states.
Talking to reporters outside the Assembly, Sagar questioned why officers from Jammu and Kashmir were being recommended for transfer while officers from the region were being sent to states and Union Territories including Sikkim, Rajasthan, Delhi and Goa.
“BJP does not want to answer why local officers from Jammu and Kashmir are recommended for transfer, while officers from here are being sent to states like Sikkim, Rajasthan, Delhi and Goa. They have no answers to these questions, so they are creating chaos,” Sagar said.
His remarks came amid disruption in the Assembly, where BJP legislators have been raising allegations of misgovernance against the government.
The issue of administrative postings and transfers has emerged amid wider political differences between the ruling National Conference and the BJP during the ongoing Assembly session.
Sagar is the National Conference MLA from Hazratbal constituency and is also a senior functionary of the party. [KNT]
