Wildlife Department, Control Room Achabal and Police Join Operation; Bear Released Into Natural Habitat

ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 18: A black bear was successfully rescued after becoming trapped inside a water tank at Bradiangan area of Uttersoo in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Soon after information about the trapped bear was received, the Wildlife Department was alerted, following which a rescue operation was launched to safely extricate the animal.

The rescue operation was carried out under the supervision of the Wildlife Warden South, with the Range Officer Bringhi Valley and personnel from the Control Room Achabal reaching the spot and coordinating the efforts. The Uttersoo Police Station also extended assistance during the operation.

The wildlife team carefully assessed the situation and took necessary precautions to ensure the safety of both the animal and people present at the site. The bear was subsequently tranquilized by the wildlife personnel and safely rescued from the water tank.

Following its successful rescue, the bear was shifted away from the populated area and released into its natural habitat, officials said.

The timely response by the Wildlife Department, assisted by the Control Room Achabal and Uttersoo Police, helped ensure that the animal was rescued safely without any reported harm to the bear or local residents.

The operation was completed successfully, bringing relief to residents of the area and ensuring the safe return of the wild animal to its natural surroundings.(KNC)
