LoP Questions Govt’s Promises on Free LPG Cylinders, Electricity
Srinagar, September 25: Jammu and Kashmir Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma on Thursday questioned the Government over its unfulfilled promises on free LPG cylinders and electricity, while also warning that a Cabinet reshuffle could create a political crisis for the Government and the ruling party.
Speaking to reporters after the conclusion of the third day of the ongoing Assembly session, Sharma alleged that the Government had failed to deliver on its earlier commitment of providing 200 units of free electricity.
He also questioned the Government’s recent promise of providing six free LPG cylinders, asking how the commitment would be implemented when, according to him, earlier assurances had not been fulfilled.
The LoP said that people continue to raise several issues, including problems related to LPG supplies and the demands of National Health Mission employees, and alleged that the Government had failed to adequately address these concerns.
Responding to a question on whether the Omar Abdullah-led Government had failed to resolve public issues, Sharma criticised the Chief Minister’s political leadership.
Sharma also targeted the Government over the proposed Cabinet reshuffle, saying that the issue had been discussed for the past two years but had not materialised.
He alleged that the Government lacked the political will to undertake the reshuffle and claimed that such a move could lead to a crisis within the Government and the ruling party.
The remarks came amid the ongoing Assembly session, where issues concerning public welfare, governance and implementation of Government commitments have been raised by members.
