Court in Indore Convicts All 13 Accused; Total Fine of ₹1.56 Lakh Imposed

Indore, August 29: A CBI Court in Indore has convicted and sentenced 13 accused persons to five years’ rigorous imprisonment in a bank fraud case involving an alleged wrongful loss of more than ₹3 crore to UCO Bank.

According to a press release issued by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the court pronounced the judgment on August 29, 2026, sentencing all 13 private individuals to five years’ rigorous imprisonment. The court also imposed a total fine of ₹1.56 lakh.

Accused Convicted in the Case

The convicted accused have been identified as Anil Patel, Manmohan Yadav, Kailash Yadav, Mona Yadav, Deepak Yadav, Ashish Patel, Tulsiram Yadav, Mohan Yadav, Rajani Yadav, Sandeep Yadav, Satish Patel (Patil), Kalpana Patel and Radha Yadav.

CBI Alleged Criminal Conspiracy in Loan Fraud

The case was registered by the CBI on March 30, 2012, following a complaint from the Deputy Zonal Manager of UCO Bank, Indore.

The investigation alleged that the accused, acting in pursuance of a criminal conspiracy, obtained loan facilities by mortgaging land belonging to third parties at different locations.

The accused allegedly presented inflated property valuations and used fictitious identities to facilitate the sanctioning of loans.

Forged Documents Used to Obtain Loans

The CBI further alleged that forged documents and deeds were submitted as part of the process. These allegedly included documents carrying forged signatures of a Sub-Registrar and false SDO revenue diversion orders.

According to the investigating agency, the alleged fraudulent activities resulted in a wrongful loss of more than ₹3 crore to the bank.

CBI Filed 10 Chargesheets

After completing its investigation, the CBI filed 10 chargesheets on December 20, 2013.

Following cognizance of the case, the court commenced trial proceedings in 10 separate court cases arising from RC 03/2012, registered by the CBI.

After completion of the trial, the court convicted all the accused and awarded sentences accordingly, the agency said.

The judgment marks the culmination of a case that originated in 2012 and involved allegations of fraudulent loan sanctioning through the use of third-party properties, fictitious identities and forged revenue and registration documents.(KNC)
