Srinagar, Oct 6 (GNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today chaired a meeting to review preparations for the third edition of the Kashmir Marathon, scheduled for October 25.
The event will feature full and half marathons, a three-day Marathon Expo and a total prize pool of Rs 3.17 crore. A dedicated J&K Local category has also been introduced to encourage and reward local runners.
The Chief Minister, as per GNS directed the Tourism Department to ensure seamless inter-departmental coordination, comprehensive arrangements for runners and focused publicity to attract participants from across India and abroad.
He also directed the inclusion of an untimed fun run and virtual races in future editions to broaden participation.(GNS)
