Srinagar, May 12 : A police personnel lost his life after suffering an electric shock at Purshyar Mandir in the Habakadal area of Srinagar on Tuesday, officials said.
Official sources told Kashmir News Corner (KNC) that the deceased has been identified as SGCT Veerji Koul, who was posted as a Personal Security Officer (PSO) with a social activist from District Police Lines (DPL) Srinagar.
Sources said the cop received an electric shock while he was present inside the temple premises.
He was immediately rushed to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation.(KNC)
