Amid the growing threat of coronovirus, demand for masks and sanitizers have increased manifold and taking advantage of the situation, unscrupulous traders have started black marketing it in this north Kashmir’s town of Baramulla district.

Some people who thronged medical shops on Tuesday to buy masks and sanitizers claimed that sellers were charging hefty amounts for a piece of mask or a sanitizer.

Taking note of it, a drug controller team, during a surprise visit, suspended one medical agency for selling sanitizers without bills. The team also fined two medical agencies and five shops for selling masks without proper bills in the town.

Similarly, the team suspended a medical shop in Hyderbeigh area of Pattan for selling sanitizers without bills.

Drug officer in Sopore Junaid Naseer told GNS that efforts are on to stop the illegal business and to provide relief to the general public at this moment. He said that the department will continue the drive.
