JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya took stock of the functioning of Jan Aushadhi Kendras in the district at a meeting of stakeholder departments here today.

He evaluated the sales performance of the existing Jan Aushadhi Kendras and identified the factors to ensure their growth. He urged the officers to work hard to increase the sales of medicines through these outlets. He asked them to submit reports on the sales of medicines, the number of prescriptions and other details.

He also analysed the blockwise sales  of Jan Aushadhi Kendras, particularly of the government health facilities at Bishnah, Akhnoor, RS Pura, Kot Bhalwal, Chowki Choura, Sarwal and others. He checked the status of the prescription audit and discussed the procurement issues, including those related to JKMSC.

He emphasised that the BMOs should spare no effort in promoting the Jan Aushadhi Kendra medicines and ensure that their sales go up while serving the people. He said that there was no shortage of resources and the BMOs should work on promoting these medicines on a mission mode. He also set short term targets for the officers.

He further reviewed the routine operational issues of the respective hospitals and health centres during the meeting.

The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Dr Harbaksh Singh, Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh, Medical Superintendents, Block Medical Officers and others while the Sub Divisional Magistrates participated in the meeting online.
