Kupwara, April 13 (GNS): Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg, today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the status of preventive measures in place in the Red zone areas of the district. The meeting was informed that strict restrictions have been imposed on vehicular and people’s movement in Drugmulla, Manigah and Trehgam, which have been declared Red zone areas after detection of some Corona virus cases in these areas. The meeting was informed that 15000 masks have been distributed so far among the people of these areas to contain the deadly virus. Meanwhile, the D C directed concerned Tehsildars to sealing all entry and exit points of the Red zones. He also directed the Chief Agriculture officer to arrange required machinery for further fumigation of these areas. The Assistant Director, Food and Civil Supplies informed the meeting that the ration supply for the month of April stands distributed across the district and demand for additional essential commodities have been taken up for supply. The D C directed the concerned to home deliver ration supply in Red zone areas twice a week and LPG once a week to avoid public gathering. In order to ensure complete restrictions on the movement of people, the D C directed the concerned to augment the service of volunteers for home delivery of grocery items in Red zone areas twice a week. To ensure availability of medical screening, the DC directed the CMO of to frame Mobile Medical Teams consisting of a Pharmacist and a Health Worker for screening of the patients. He also directed the concerned to distribute safety kits including jackets and masks among the staff deputed for fumigation in these areas. The Additional Deputy Commissioner(ADC), Nazir Ahmad Lone; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Bashir Ahmad Bhat; Chief Medical Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer (Nodal Officer Red Zone Areas), DPO, Assistant Director Food, Tehsildars of Kupwara, Drugmulla and Trehgam, officer of Agriculture Department and other concerned attended the meeting. Meanwhile SDM, Karnah, Dr Bilal Mohiddin, took stock of preventive measures regarding COVID-19 in the area, today.
