DGP Sanctions Meritorious Scholarship of Over ₹33 Lakh for Wards of Serving Police Personnel, SPOs

Jammu: To boost the morale and instil competitiveness among the wards of serving Police personnel and Special Police Officers (SPOs), the Director General of Police J&K Shri R. R. Swain has sanctioned meritorious scholarship of rupees 29,78,000 lakh and rupees 3,70,400 lakh in favour of wards of serving police personnel and SPOs respectively under different orders issued by Police Headquarters on Thursday.
Vide an order, meritorious scholarship of rupees 29,78,000 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 582 wards of serving police personnel for securing 80% and above marks in the annual examination of class 10th during the academic session 2022-23. Under this order, rupees 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 325 wards for securing above 90% marks and rupees 4000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 257wards for securing above 80% marks.
Vide another order, meritorious scholarship of rupees 3,70,400 has been sanctioned in favour of 72 wards of serving SPOs who have excelled the in annual examination of class 10th and 12th. Under this order, rupees 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 19 wards of class 10th for securing above 90% marks while as rupees 4000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 32 wards for securing above 80% marks. Similarly, rupees 7200 each has been sanctioned in favour of 02 wards for securing above 90% marks while rupees 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 19 wards for securing above 80% marks in the annual examination of class 12th.
Pertinent to mentioned here that among the wards of SPOs who have excelled in class 12th annual examination, Sarika Thakur daughter of SPO Pritam Singh No. 688 of DPO Udhampur, Adnan Sami son of SPO Anayatullah No 2554 of DPO Doda and Abhishek Balotra son of L/SPO Rajni Bala of DPO Kathua have secured 91.8% , 91.6% and 89.8% respectively. In Class 10th, Nikhil Singh son of SPO Bharath Singh No. 109 of DPO Reasi has secured 97.6%, Masroof Mushtaq son of SPO Mushtaq Ahmad No 72 of GRP Kashmir has secured 97.4% and Sargis Choudhary daughter of SPO Bashir Ahmad No. 180 of GRP Jammu has secured 97.2% marks.
Among the wards of serving police personnel who have excelled in class 10th examination, Humaira Jan daughter of SgCt Zahoor Ahmad Wani of IRP 2nd battalion and Duha Rashid daughter of HC Abdul Rashid Ganie of CID SB Kashmir both have secured 99% marks. Muntazir Farooq son of HC Farooq Ahmad of DPO Srinagar and Minza Lone daughter of HC (TEL) Akhter Hussain of Telecom Kashmir both have secured 98.8% marks. Sabreena Mushtaq daughter of SgCt Mushtaq Ahmad Dar of JKAP 12th Bn has secured 98.6% marks.
The meritorious scholarship schemes of Jammu and Kashmir Police include scholarships for wards of serving/deceased/martyred Police personnel/SPOs for doing exceptional in different classes. Special reward is also given to the students who perform exceptionally in the college/universities and technical courses. Rewards are also given to the wards who crack competitive exams like UPSC, JKPSC, NEET, NET, CSIR etc.
