DHSK Orders Resumption Of Routine Health Care Activities Across Kashmir

Srinagar, July 9 (GNS): Directorate of Health Services Kashmir has ordered for resumption routine health care activities across Kashmir hospitals following dip in number of Covid-19 cases, officials said on Friday.

A spokesperson of Directorate of Health Services Kashmir said that DHSK in a circular said in view of the decline in Covid-19 positive cases there has been a drastic decrease in the number of hospital admissions and also as DRDO hospital has come up for Covid-19 patients.

 “It is enjoined upon all Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents & Block Medical Officers under the Administrative control of this Directorate to resume OPD, Surgeries and other routine healthcare services in all health institutions under their respective jurisdictions in the interest of better patient care,” the spokesman said in a statement to GNS.

He however, said few separate well-equipped oxygenated beds should be kept available for emergency purposes including Gynecology/Obstetrics and paediatrics.

 “In addition, all SOPs/guidelines laid down by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India from time to time must be adhered to in letter and spirit,” it said.

The routine services were stopped in hospitals following the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In another circular issued by the DHSK it said to take further measures for containment of possible resurgence of Covid-19, cases (3rd Wave), a need has been felt to carry-out vaccination drive in Darulalooms, Orphanages, Asharams, Gurduwaras, Churches and Juvenile homes in so that staff as well as students in these religious institutions can be vaccinated well in time.

 “Therefore, it is impressed upon all CMOs, Medical Superintendents and Block Medical Officers to carry out vaccination drives upon the staff/eligible students working in all the religious institutions in their respective districts on war footing basis.

DHSK requested all Deputy Commissioners to furnish a list of religious Institutions to Chief Medical Officers, so that such institutions are identified and vaccination drives are undertaken accordingly.

Pertinently, JLNM hospital Srinagar and District Hospital Pulwama have already started routine surgeries for the betterment of patient care. (GNS)
