Kupwara, May 31 (GNS): Coming close on the heels of directions passed by Jammu and Kashmir administration, District Magistrate Kupwara Sunday extended lockdown restrictions in the north Kashmir district to June 8. In an official notification, of which a copy lies with GNS, District Magistrate Anshul Gargh said that, the restrictions as imposed vide order number DCK/PS/2020/150/991-999 dated May 19, 2020 shall continue upto June 8. Among a host of measures to contain the spread of the infection the district administration directed the concerned Tehsildars to ensure proper follow-up of the directions. As per the order, shops in the town areas and Red Zones are to remain shut with only home deliveries to continue. Shops in other areas are to be allowed in early morning hours and late evening hours only, with no activity during the day. The order also directed the officials to ensure cent percent usage of face masks, with the offenders to be penalized. The restrictions on transport including Sumos, Xylos and other vehicles, alongside no permission for social or religious gatherings to be allowed anywhere in the district shall continue, the order said. “Information in regard to the Lockdown implementation be disseminated well in advance to the people and awareness be generated over subsequent lifting of restrictions,” the order added.
