Srinagar, Jun 13: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P.K Pole on Saturday chaired a meeting to review the functioning of NGOs working in the Kashmir Division. The meeting attended by all district coordinators and heads of all Kashmir-based NGOs was held through Video Conference. Among the other participants included nodal officer for NGOs of Kashmir Division, Ghulam Jeelani Zargar alongside other nodal officers of the Division. Nodal officer Ganderbal Imtiyaz Ahmad along with the heads of all the NGOs of District Ganderbal also participated in the virtual meet. On the occasion, Divisonal Commissioner Kashmir discussed the functioning of the NGOs and strategy to be adopted, keeping in view the recent spurt in number of COVID19 positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir for past few days. Impressing on the participants to work for the betterment of the society in the current crisis, the administrative head remarked that the role of NGOs working in Kashmir, fighting with novel Corona virus and to overcome the present situation is critical and pivotal. As a team we need to ensure that SOPs issued from time to time are observed strictly, Pole remarked. Meanwhile, Chairman of Ganderbal-based NGO ‘Pukar’ Nazakat Khaleefa expressed his dismay over non-issuance of ‘Curfew Pass’ for the volunteers from district authorities and requested for help from the Divisional administration. We wish the district administration to be at our help so that we can continue with our noble cause without any impediment, Khaleefa said. He further stressed upon establishment of ‘Blood Bank’ at District Hospital Ganderbal, adding “We request District Administration Ganderbal to organise a Blood Donation camp on eve of World Blood Donor Day.” “Need of the time is to work in tandem to get rid of this pandemic”, he remarked.
