LICENCE VIOLATIONS DETECTED DURING CHECKS; SHOW-CAUSE NOTICES ISSUED
ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 25: The Drug Control Organisation Anantnag on Friday carried out an extensive regulatory inspection drive across several remote areas of Kokernag to verify compliance with the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, and the rules framed thereunder.
The inspection teams visited chemist establishments in Takiya Magam, Sundbrari, Solina and Buchoo, where various aspects of drug-store operations were examined, including hygiene standards, storage conditions, statutory records and compliance with licence requirements.
Officials conducted detailed checks to ascertain whether the establishments were adhering to the prescribed norms governing the sale, storage and handling of medicines.
During the inspection, two establishments were found violating licence conditions and other applicable statutory provisions. Taking immediate regulatory action, the operation of both establishments was closed on the spot, while show-cause notices were served upon the concerned operators for further proceedings under the law.
The Drug Control Organisation stated that strict enforcement of drug laws remains a priority, stressing that violations of prescribed regulatory standards can pose serious risks to public health and patient safety.
The department further maintained that inspection and enforcement activities will continue across Anantnag district, particularly in areas where regulatory compliance requires closer monitoring.
Officials reiterated that no compromise will be made with statutory requirements and establishments found violating the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and allied rules will face action as warranted under law.(KNC)
