Anantnag, Oct 5: The Drug Control Department conducted an inspection drive across Dialgam and adjoining areas of Anantnag district on Monday, checking the functioning of drug sale establishments and verifying compliance with prescribed licensing conditions.
During the day-long enforcement activity, 11 drug sale establishments were inspected by the department.
Officials found violations relating to the conditions of drug licences and maintenance of proper records, following which the licences of two establishments were suspended for non-compliance.
The establishments facing licence suspension are:Haya Pharmacy, Dialgam — Proprietor: Ajaz Ahmad.New Almukhtar Medical Store, Bon Dialgam .Proprietor: Fayaz Ahmad
The inspection drive was aimed at ensuring that chemists and drug retailers comply with statutory requirements, maintain proper records and adhere strictly to the conditions under which their licences have been issued.
The Drug Control Department has reiterated that violations of licensing conditions and regulatory norms will invite action under the applicable provisions of law.
The enforcement exercise is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen monitoring of drug sale establishments and ensure that medicines are stored, sold and accounted for in accordance with prescribed regulations.(KNC)
