July 20: In compliance with the orders of the Hon’ble District Court Shopian and in accordance with the provisions of Section 52A of the NDPS Act, the Drug Disposal Committee Shopian destroyed a huge quantity of seized contraband substances.
The destruction was carried out at IGC Kashmir Health Care System Lassipora, under strict adherence to legal protocols and environmental safety standards. The contraband substances destroyed were seized in 07 different NDPS FIRs of Police Station Zainapora and Keller. The items destroyed included Poppy Straw 3.970 Kgs, Ganja Powder 5.792 Kgs, crushed Cannabis 13.908 Kgs, Bhung Chura 6.950 Kgs and 05 Poppy Plants. The process was duly photo-graphed and video-graphed for official record.
Police reiterates its unwavering commitment to eradicating the drug menace and fostering a drug-free society. Citizens are urged to support this mission by reporting any drug-related activities to the nearest police station.
