Srinagar, Oct 05: An earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale struck Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday evening, with the epicentre located around 28 kilometres southeast of Srinagar.
According to seismic data, the earthquake occurred at 6:44 pm at a shallow depth of 5 kilometres. The epicentre was recorded at latitude 33.890°N and longitude 74.992°E.
The tremor occurred at a relatively shallow depth, making it potentially perceptible in adjoining areas of south and central Kashmir.
There were no immediate reports of any loss of life or damage to property following the tremor.
