Srinagar, Mar 1 (GNS): Twenty-two travellers were among 63 new coronavirus cases reported in Jammu and Kashmir even as one more person succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Monday.

They said that nine among the fresh cases were reported from Jammu Division and 54 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall case tally to 126504.

Giving district-wise details, the officials told GNS that Srinagar reported 18 cases, Baramulla 7, Budgam 4, Pulwama 6, Kupwara 3, Anantnag 11, Bandipora 1, Ganderbal 2, Kulgam 2, Shopian 0, Jammu 7, Udhampur 1, Rajouri 0, Doda 0, Kathua 1, Samba 0, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 0, Ramban 0 and Reasi 0.

A number of these cases were confirmed at diagnostic laboratories of SKIMS Soura and CD hospital. They include male (75) from Makhama Budgam, male (41, 41) from CCC RTC IV Humhama Budgam, male (07) from Zoonimar Srinagar, female (15) from Elahibagh, male (21) from Ali kadal Srinagar, male (70) from Srinagar while CD cases include female (58) from Kamla, female (55, 80, 30) and male (65) from Tral, the officials said.

Moreover, they said, 56 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals—18 from Jammu Division and 38 from Kashmir. The victim happens to be from Kashmir Valley—an 80-year-old woman from Kokernag Anantnag.

Out of total cases, they said, 829 are active cases— 198 in Jammu division and 631 in the Valley. 123717 people have recovered while 1958 have died—725 in Jammu and 1233 in Kashmir. (GNS)
