Jammu: In a major crackdown, Bahu Fort Police recovered ₹2.15 crore worth of low-quality Indian currency notes, along with ₹5 lakh cash and three cheque books, during a naka operation near Kargil Colony, Bathindi.

Police intercepted vehicle HR26CQ-8653 and arrested five accused, identified as Nazir Ahmed of Barzulla Srinagar, Riyaz Ahmed of Sheikhhar Pulwama, Mohd Naimullah of Dwarka Delhi, Manzoor Ahmed of Nishat Srinagar, and Basit of Shopian.

A case FIR No. 71/2023 has been registered at PS Bahu Fort, while further investigation is underway. The operation was conducted under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari and SP South Mamta Sharma.
