Srinagar, Mar 31: (GNS) A carpet mill besides several houses were gutted in an inferno which broke out here at Namchibal locality of Fateh Kadal area on Wednesday evening.
Eyewitnesses told GNS that a plume of smoke started billowing out of the carpet mill, at Namchibal locality, this evening. Alerted by the occurrence, the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) department was intimated. However before arrival of the fire tenders, the enraged flames had spread to residential houses in the vicinity, damaging many of them, they said.
When contacted a Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) official told GNS that a carpet mill and three residential houses have got completely gutted in the incident besides partial damage to three other houses.
“The fire tenders are very much on the spot to rule out any further eventuality”, the official added. (GNS)
