Jahangir Lolabi Srinagar, Jun 14: A departmental team of Langate forest division on Sunday morning seized a vehicle carrying illicit timber in Tragpora Rafiabad area of north-Kashmir’s Baramulla district. An official privy to the seizure told Kashmir Glory that “a vehicle was seized carrying illicit timber by a team of Langate Forest Division” adding “the seizure led to the recovery of 25 cft from the vehicle.” The persons involved in the act identified as Irfan Ahmad Tantray of Baramulla and Firdous Ahmad Mir of Tarzoo were apprehended on the spot, the official said. An FIR number 64/2020 under section 379 IPC and Section 26 of IFA has been registered against the accused at police station Dangiwacha, Baramulla, the official said. The operation, as per the official, was carried out by Rafiabad forest Range under the supervision of Mohammad Ayoub Block Forest Officer.
