Former IAS officer B R Sharma appointed as Chairman PSC

Srinagar, May 5 (GNS): Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday appointed former IAS officer B R Sharma as Chairman Public Service Commission.

The order to appoint the B R Sharma as PSC chairman was issued by Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone (IAS) Secretary to the government on the directions of Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu.

“In exercise of powers conferred by section 93 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, and S.O. 3937 (E) dated 31ist October, 2019, read with order issued in terms of sub-clause (i) of clause (c) of the proclamation issued by the President dated 31 ist October, 2019, the Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is pleased to appoint B R Sharma (IAS) (Retired), as chairman, Public Service Commission for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He shall hold the position of the Chairman, Public Service Commission, till he attains the age of sixty-two years,” reads the order. (GNS)
