Anantnag, Aug 19(GNS): Four persons were injured after a Xylo vehicle met with an accident near Sinthan Top in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday, officials said. No one died in the accident.

Officials told GNS that the accident occurred about 2 to 3 kilometres below Sinthan Top, within the jurisdiction of Police Station Larnoo.

The Xylo, bearing registration number Jk03G-7299, was travelling from SKIMS Soura towards Kishtwar carrying a dead body, when the driver reportedly lost control and the vehicle skidded off the road.

There were five persons on board the vehicle. Four of them sustained injuries and were shifted to the hospital for treatment, officials said.

A police team along with an ambulance was immediately rushed from Larnoo to the accident site. The injured were being evacuated for medical care, officials added.

Earlier reports suggesting a fatality in the accident stand corrected.(GNS)
