Sheikh Junaid Srinagar, April 17 (GNS): A day after a man in Ganderbal’s Gutlibagh village tested positive for coronavirus, the district authorities on Friday put under quarantine over a dozen people believed to have come into contact with the Covid-19 patient. Reports reaching GNS said that over a dozen people in Mammar and Gutlibagh villages of the district were placed under quarantine after it was learnt that all of them were in contact with the 20-year-old youth who tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday. “Two families comprising eleven members from Mammar village have been taken for quarantine. They are all contacts of a youth, who tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday,” Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kangan, Hakim Tanvir told GNS. He said the contacts; mostly family members of the Covid-19 patient, were also taken for quarantine from his native village Gutlibagh. “He was also a prayer leader and was teaching Quran to students. We are tracing all the people who may have come into contact with him,” Tanvir added. Meanwhile, the district administration Ganderbal has declared Gutlibagh village as a red zone and the adjoining villages as buffer zone after a positive case was detected in the area.
