Srinagar, Apr 21 (GNS): Maj Gen Ashok Singh, GOC Kilo Force, on Tuesday visited Lolab Valley in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district to review the security situation and preparedness regarding coronavirus (Covid-19). In continuation of the joint efforts and extension of support by the Army to civil administration and people, Maj Gen Ashok Singh during his visit interacted with DC and SSP Kupwara, a defense spokesperson said in a statement issued to GNS. He said Maj Gen Ashok Singh reviewed the present security situation in Lolab as well as counter measures being adopted to mitigate the spread of Cocid-19 pandemic. According to the statement, Maj Gen Ashok Singh applauded the synergised efforts of civil administration and security forces in brining succour to the lives of the Awaam during the precautionary lockdown to cease the Cocid-19 spread,” the spokesperson said. The GOC Kilo Force also assured all the stakeholders of Army’s “unstinting support” in mitigating the hardships of people and combating the spread of the disease, the spokesperson said.
