Poonch, June 26 (GNS): District administration Poonch on Saturday ordered withholding of salary for the month of June to employees engaged in vaccination process in the mountainous district.

“Vaccination of eligible population is one of the most important parameters to contain spread of virus. Despite repeated instructions, the vaccination percentage of above 45 population is 87% only which is viewed very seriously by the Higher authorities. It shows laxity on part of Officers/Officials deployed in vaccination process,” reads an order by Deputy Commissioner Poonch Inder Jeet.

“Therefore, salary of Chief Medical Officer/ Medical Superintendent of DH Poonch /BMOs/ Chief Education Officer Poonch/all ZEOS/ all Tehsildars/ all BDOS/ all Naib Tehsildars/ Sectoral Medical Officers and non-gazetted staff engaged in vaccination drive is hereby withheld till further orders,” the order reads, a copy of which lies with GNS.

“In case of non-gazetted employees whose salary bills shall be sent to the Treasuries, the concerened DDO shall furnish a certificate mentioning therein that these employees are not engaged in vaccination drive,” the order, sent to District Treasury Officer, added.

“You (District Treasury Officer) are directed to also direct the Sub Treasuries falling within the jurisdiction of District Poonch not to entertain the salary bills of above motioned employees for the month of June 2021. (GNS)
