Half a dozen shops looted in Anantnag amid lockdown

Anantnag, Mar 28 (GNS): Over five shops were looted in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district amid lockdown in wake of coronavirus pandemic.

The burglary, as per reports, took place at a market in Mehndi Kadal, Anantnag during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.

“I received call early morning that robbers have looted my shop,” one of the shop owners told GNS.

Another shopkeeper said the thieves took undue advantage of people completely staying indoors due to lockdown.

“At this time, we can’t come out from our houses because of threat of covid-19 disease. Even in this crucial juncture when everybody is worried for life, some people are resorting to such acts. God save us,” he said. (GNS)
