Srinagar, Aug 01: Authorities on Saturday ordered the closure of all government and private schools in the districts of Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar due to heavy rainfall and prevailing adverse weather conditions.
The respective Chief Education Officers said the decision was taken on the directions of the district administrations as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and school staff amid inclement weather.
In Doda, all government and private educational institutions have been closed for the day due to adverse weather conditions. In Ramban, physical classes have also been suspended in all schools following incessant rainfall across the district.
Meanwhile, in Kishtwar, the District Administration ordered the closure of all government and private schools citing heavy rainfall, slippery road conditions and the risk of shooting stones, which could endanger the safety of students and staff.
The authorities have directed all Heads of Institutions to conduct online classes through appropriate digital platforms to ensure that academic activities continue without interruption.
