Ganderbal: In a firm move to safeguard the integrity of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2025), Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested a man at Baltal for attempting to infiltrate the pilgrimage route using a forged Yatra Registration Card.
The accused, identified as Shivam Mittal, son of Krishan Mittal, hailing from Dwarka Puri, Jagadhri in Yamunanagar district of Haryana, was intercepted by security personnel while trying to bypass mandatory verification protocols using fraudulent documents.
Following the detection, an FIR bearing number 13/2025 has been registered at Police Station Sonamarg under relevant sections of the law. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation to trace the origin of the fake registration card and identify any possible network aiding such deceitful attempts.
J&K Police reiterated its commitment to ensuring a safe and secure pilgrimage for all devotees, warning that strict legal action will be taken against anyone attempting to undermine the security arrangements by using fake or invalid documents.
Officials have urged the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities or individuals trying to misuse the Yatra registration process.
