September 02: Continuing its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking, J&K Police in Pulwama apprehended a drug peddler during naka checking at Newa Chowk and recovered approximately 12.5 grams of heroin-like substance along with ₹14,300 in cash.
A police party of Police Post Newa intercepted a cab bearing registration No. PB01B3431. During checking, the contraband was recovered from the dashboard of the vehicle. The accused was identified as Mohd. Sahil son of Abdul Majeed Kumar resident of Chak Wali Sahab, Rawalpora, Sanat Nagar, Srinagar. The contraband, cash and the vehicle used in the commission of the offence were seized as per prescribed procedure. In this connection, FIR No. 152/2026 under Sections 8/21-27A of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Pulwama, and further investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source of the contraband and establish further linkages.
Police remains committed to its zero-tolerance approach against drug trafficking and will continue sustained action against those involved in the illegal narcotics trade.
