Poonch, Feb 1: At least two people lost their lives while two others were injured in a road accident that occurred at Jandrola in the Sathra Mandi area of Poonch district on Sunday.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Soon after the mishap, emergency ambulances reached the scene and shifted the injured to District Hospital Poonch. However, two of the victims later succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment.

The deceased were identified as Chitinder Singh (54), son of Sukhdev Singh of Kamsar, and Kulbir Singh (50), son of Shiv Pal Singh, a resident near DIET Poonch. Both reportedly sustained severe head injuries.

Those injured in the accident were identified as Simrandeep Singh (38), son of Kuldeer Singh, and Harvinder Singh (56), son of Joginder Singh, both residents of the Radio Station area of Poonch. They are presently receiving treatment at District Hospital Poonch.

Confirming the incident, Chief Medical Officer Poonch Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Khan told news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC) that two persons died in the accident, while two others are under medical care. Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation is underway. (KNC)
