J&K Govt Promotes Riyaz Ahmad Romshoo, Ashu Gupta as DG in J&K Economics & Statistics Service

Jammu, Feb 10 : The Government of Jammu & Kashmir has accorded sanction for the elevation/promotion of Mr. Riyaz Ahmad Romshoo and Ms. Ashu Gupta from Directors to Director General in the J&K Economics & Statistics (Gazetted) Service, with immediate effect.

The promotion has been issued under Government Order No. 22-JK(PD&MD) of 2026 dated 10.02.2026 by the Planning, Development & Monitoring Department, Civil Secretariat, J&K a copy of which lies with news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC reads, Sanction is hereby accorded to the elevation/promotion of the following two Directors as Director General in J&K Economics & Statistics (Gazetted) Service in the Super Time Scale of Level-14 (144200-218200), with immediate effect.

The two officers promoted to Super Time Scale of Level-14 are Mr. Riyaz Ahmad Romshoo and Ms. Ashu Gupta.

The above officers shall continue to work at their present place of posting till further orders, it reads.

The order states that the promotion shall be subject to the outcome of any writ petitions pending before competent courts. (KNC)
