Compensation of over Rs 30 lakh disbursed to Labours in Kupwara under Employees’ Compensation Act

Srinagar, Jul 30 : The Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned Rs 41 lakh to the 2016 unrest pellet victim Insha Mushtaq to make her LPG distributorship operational, minister Satish Sharma said on Thursday.

Sharma, the Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, said justice was delayed but not denied.

“Justice delayed but not denied. Insha Mushtaq lost her eyesight to pellets in 2016; her LPG distributorship was sanctioned in 2018 but left incomplete.

“Under HCM @OmarAbdullah, we’ve approved release of the Rs 41.16 lakh balance to finally take this case to its logical conclusion,” the minister said in a post on X.

Insha, a resident of Shopian district in south Kashmir, lost her eyesight after she suffered pellet gun injuries during the unrest in the Valley in the aftermath of the killing of then Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani in 2016. (PTI)
