November 01: Continuing its special drive against absconders, J&K Police arrested an absconder who had been evading arrest for the last 23 years.
The accused has been identified as Bashir Ahmad Mir, son of Mohd Ashan Mir, resident of Wathoo, Shopian. He was wanted in Case FIR No. 28/2002 under sections 366, 376, and 109 RPC of Police Station Rajpora. Acting on specific information, a special team from Police Station Rajpora conducted an operation and apprehended the accused after decades of evasion. After completing all legal formalities, the accused was produced before the Hon’ble Court of Law.
J&K Police reiterates its resolve to continue its relentless pursuit against all offenders and absconders in the interest of justice and public safety.
