J&K Reports 517 Fresh Covid-19 Cases, 5 Deaths In Record High This Year

Srinagar, April 02 (GNS):  Jammu and Kashmir reported 517 fresh covid-19 cases and five deaths due to it in the last 24 hours, the highest number of infections as well as fatalities reported in a single day this year, officials said on Friday.

Among the fresh cases including 90 travelers, they said, Jammu division reported 96 cases and Kashmir 421, taking the J&K’s overall infection count to 131938. 

Also, five more persons died due to the virus, one from Jammu division and four from Kashmir Valley, taking the total toll to 2003—738 in Jammu region and 1266 in Kashmir. The victims from Valley include an 80-year-old woman from  Vailoo kokernag Anantnag, a 50-year-old female from Beeru-Bijbehara        Anantnag, a 90-year-old man  from Lalbazar Srinagar and an 80-year-old female Sehpora Ganderbal.

Providing district wise details, the officials told GNS that Srinagar reported 173 cases, Baramulla 86, Budgam 88, Pulwama 4, Kupwara 12, Anantnag 12, Bandipora 14, Ganderbal 9, Kulgam 21, Shopian 2,

Jammu 62, Udhampur 1, Rajouri 7, Doda 6, Kathua 14, Samba 3, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 0, Ramban 3 and

Reasi 0.

This was for the first time that 500-mark was breached in a single day this year.  Also, it was for the eighteenth consecutive day that more than 100 cases were reported on a single day in J&K. In all, more than 4000 cases were added to the tally during the time, they said.

A number of these fresh cases were confirmed at diagnostic laboratories of SKIMS Soura, CD hospital and GMC Anantnag.

The SKIMS cases include include male (26) from Lalbazar Srg, five males (25, 20, 55, 25, 52) and four females (75, 78, 56, 21) from Saderbal Srg, male (21) from Urpash Ganderbal, male (50) from Batapora Ganderbal, two males (15, 15) from H S Surish Budgam, male (27) from Utligam Beerwah Budgam, male (46) from Najan Beerwah Budgam, male (12) from Hajibagh Budgam, female (17) from Soibugh Budgam, male (30) from Razwen Dangerpora Budgam, male (55) from Kralpora Budgam, male (42) from CRPF Humhama Budgam, female (65) from Shartpora Kupwara, male (40) from Nutnussa Kupwara, male (31) from Hatmulla Kupwara, female (66) from Lassipora Lolab Kupwara, male (16) from Soura, female (40) from Khanyar, male (32) from Choudri Shopian, female (51) from Watoo Kulgam, female (33) and male (35) from Umer Colony Srg, female (60) from Soura, male (38) from Nowhatta, male (20) from Hyderpora, female (50) from Lalbazar, female (13) from Hawal, male (30) from Zakura, male (65) from Pandrethan Srg, male (11) from Tangmarg Baramulla.

The CD cases include male (52) from Rawalpora, male (27) from Batmaloo, two females (24, 48) from Nowgam, female (06) from Zakura, female (01) from Chanapora, male (61) from Rajbagh, female (20) from Mehjoor Nagar, male (62) from Bemina, two males (16, 16) from IMI Ratnipora, male (06) from Kadlabal Pampore, male (52) from Konibal, two males (22, 22) from Kavil Shikargah, female (34) from Tral, female (65) from Panzoo, female (17) from Panner, female (17) from Pastuna, female (36) from Gulab Bagh, male (28) from Bota Kadal, male (58) and female (65) from Lal Bazar, female (29) from Badamwari, male (42) from Lal Bazar, female (37) from Hawal, two females (40, 34) and three males (64, 38, 40) from Lal Bazar, male (28) from Fatehkadal, female (47) from Rainawari, male (52) from Hafiz Bagh, male (28) from Mulfaq, female (10) from Zakura, male (60) and female (58) from Syed Colony Habak Naseembagh, male (21) from Shalimar, male (20) from Rangpora Illahibagh, female (18) from Nishat, male (60) and female (50) from Bemina, male (53) from Nishat, three females (47, 10, 18) from Batmaloo, male (27) from Umer Colony, male (30) from Batpora Badgam, female (NA) and male (NA) from Srinagar, male (96) from Pune, male (46) from Peerbagh, male (38) from Dalgate, male (55) from Kupwara, female (50) from Alochibagh, female (60) from Pampore, female (27) from Baramulla, male (37) from Alochibagh, female (58) from NA, male (50) from Rawalpora, male (75) from Burzahama.

The GMC Anantnag cases include male (55) from Shopian, male (27) from High Ground, male (27) from Malik Mohalla, female (25) from Trenz.

Moreover, they said, 171 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals—54 from Jammu Division and 117 from Kashmir Division. There are 3215 covid-19 active cases—765 in Jammu division and 2450 in Kashmir. 126720 people have recovered so far in the J&K, they added. (GNS)
