Srinagar, Oct 08 (GNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday interacted with a delegation of media representatives from Mumbai at Lok Bhavan, Srinagar.
During the interaction, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the rapid infrastructure modernisation witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir over the last few years.
He said the realisation of Kashmir to Kanyakumari rail connectivity is a historic milestone in J&K’s development journey.
“Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the expansion of railway infrastructure is giving a major boost to tourism, horticulture, industry and other sectors of the Union Territory’s economy. Today, Jammu and Kashmir is moving forward with unprecedented confidence towards peace and prosperity,” the LG said.
The Lieutenant Governor also stressed the importance of strengthening connectivity, especially in border areas, saying it is crucial for both local economic prosperity and national security.
The media delegation from Mumbai, accompanied by Western Railway CPRO Vineet Abhishek and senior railway officials, is on a four-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir to study the region’s rail network and infrastructure.(GNS)
