Srinagar, April 12 (GNS): A tenant in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday allegedly murdered his landlord with a sharp edged weapon after an argument over drug abuse turned ugly. Reports reaching GNS said that the landlord identified as Bilal Ahmad Tak of Peer Mohalla village of Kanipora this evening visited his tenant identified as Nazir Ahmad Dar of Manloo and expressed his strong objection over the drug abuse by the latter. This led to a heated argument between the two before the situation worsened. Reports said Dar lifted an axe and hit his landlord leaving him in a pool of blood. The injured man was shifted to the district hospital Shopian by the locals. However, the doctors there referred him to SMHS Srinagar for advanced treatment. “He succumbed to his injuries before he could be taken to the Srinagar hospital. His body was brought back to district hospital for medico-legal formalities,” a police official told GNS. He said that the accused has been arrested and a case FIR No 56/2020 U/S 341,307 IPC have been registered against him “Further investigations in this regard are being carried out,” the police official added.
